Detectives were called to Tacoma Towing after worker found a dead body inside the trunk of a car Thursday afternoon in Lakewood.
Employees at Tacoma Towing were doing inventory of a vehicle when they found a man’s body in trunk of a silver Saturn at the tow yard located on 39th Avenue Southwest.
Deputies said the car was “privately impounded” about noon on Wednesday from the area of 97th Street and Sheridan Avenue in Tacoma.

“PCSD detectives investigating body found inside trunk of car. Body found today by employee at tow yard in Lakewood; car was privately towed yesterday from area of 97th & Sheridan in Tacoma. Victim believed to be 49 yr old male, ME confirming identity.”
The victim is believed to be a 49-year-old man from the Roy area. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office is working to confirm the identity. source
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the homicide and identify suspects.
