UPDATE: THE OFFICER WAS LOCATED SAFE AFTER 10PM LAST NIGHT. NO OTHER INFORMATION WAS GIVEN. (Original story) Las Vegas Metro Police Capt. James LaRochelle, who had ties to the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting, has gone missing. He was recently tasked with the important job of unveiling “ShotSpotter,” new gunfire triangulation technology implemented in the wake of the worst mass shooting in American history.
Metro police released the curious alert on social media following LaRochelle disappearance:
“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department needs your help in locating Capt. James Larochelle. James was last seen Thursday around 2 a.m. near Desert Foothills and Charleston Boulevard in the far west valley. He was last seen driving a tan 1998 Land Rover bearing Nevada license plate 592-JBV. Anyone with any information on the known whereabouts of Larochelle is strongly urged to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Missing Persons Detail at 702-828-2907.”
