Police say they are searching for at least two suspects after an Atlanta mother was gunned down while she traveled in her vehicle with a toddler.

Police say, Tamika Trimble‘s car was riddled with numerous bullet holes shot “from all directions” most likely from an AR-15 and a handgun that were retrieved at the scene. It was a miracle the woman’s one-year-old daughter, seated in the backseat, was uninjured, according to authorities. The child was later placed in DFCS custody.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired near the 1900 block of Terry Mill Road at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived to the scene, they found 33-year-old Tamika Trimble deceased inside the car along with a toddler in a car seat. Officers believe shots were fired at two different locations and think Trimble attempted to flee the first location. Police said the shooters possibly followed her to the second location where she died inside her car. source

Several shots were fired at the car from multiple angles and police say it’s very fortunate the toddler was not injured.

“You’ve got two scenes where the vehicle was fired upon at two different places, so it’s coming from all angles on the vehicle which is one of the reasons it’s miraculous the toddler wasn’t injured.”

Police have no suspects or motive at this time.

This incident is still under investigation.
