Glee actress Naya Rivera was arrested Saturday (Nov. 25) and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery following an altercation with her husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, in West Virginia, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The alleged incident took place late on Saturday, when police responded to a domestic violence complaint. Dorsey claimed Rivera had “struck him in the head and face” and authorities saw “minor injuries” which corroborated his claims. Dorsey also showed a video of the altercation to police. Rivera was then arrested and charged with domestic battery. She was then taken to Kanawha County Magistrate Court where she was arraigned and a bond was set. Rivera was then released from custody.
Video from WCHS Eyewitness News in Charleston, W.V., which originally broke the news, shows Rivera in handcuffs while being arraigned.
Rivera and Dorsey married in Cabo San Lucas in 2014, just months after Rivera ended her engagement with rapper Big Sean. Rivera filed for divorce in November of last year, which she later called off. The couple share a 2-year-old son.
