Brianna Brochu, a freshman at the University of Hartford, has been arrested after claims surfaced on social media she rubbed used tampons on her roommate, Jazzy Rowe‘s belongings.
In the now viral Facebook post, Brochu said she spat in her roommate’s coconut oil, placed “moldy clam dip” in her lotions, rubbed “used tampons” on her backpack and put her toothbrush “places where the sun doesn’t shine, and so much more.”
On Saturday, Brochu, 18, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace. And the victim, Rowe, aka, Jahs Barbie, aka, Jamaican Barbie, is enjoying a little social media fame.
The allegations at the Connecticut university stem from an Instagram post Brochu of Harwinton, CT., in which she wrote she “finally…got rid of her roommate” after allegedly poisoning her for more than a month, writing, “I can finally say goodbye to Jamaican Barbie.” source
Jazzy Rowe, the victim, posted an hour-long Facebook video discussing her experiences with Brochu.
Rowe said she’s had recurring throat pain and sickness while at school. She said the doctors prescribed her antibiotics and said there were “some type of bad bacteria” in her throat causing her pain, but three diagnosis tests came back negative. Rowe also said she felt like “a ghost in my own room,” describing Brochu as a distant and disrespectful roommate.
University of Hartford President Greg Woodward responded with a statement after the arrest had widely circulated on social media, with some using the hashtag #JusticeForJazzy
