Strongsville City Schools has released a brief statement on the investigation into the death of employee, Melinda Pleskovic, a 6th-grade teacher.
Pleskovic, 49, was found dead in her Blazing Star Drive residence, reports say, the victim of multiple stab wounds. A man, identifying himself as her husband, contacted 911 to report, “I think someone killed my wife,” adding, “we’ve had people trying to break into our house all year.”
The district released the following statement early Tuesday:
We have been informed of an investigation being conducted by the Strongsville Police Department regarding an incident at the home of one of our 6th-grade teachers. As this is an ongoing police investigation, we are unable to comment any further at this time. We will, however, have crisis counselors on hand for students to speak with as we are aware this is unsettling and has been publicized through the media.
The couple has a teenage son and an adult daughter. Reports say the daughter was planning to get married this weekend. source
Strongsville police said in a news release Tuesday that Mr. Pleskovic’s reports of “break-ins” were not substantiated by records filed with the department. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now assisting Strongsville police in the case.
