Charlie Malzahn, a suspect in the case, reportedly gave investigators details and directions that led police to narrow the scope of their search.

Investigators from the Flagstaff Police Department and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office located the body on private property off Nugget Mine Road.

Police say they are currently confirming the remains located are those of Gorospe through DNA testing. Authorities say they firmly believe the remains will be confirmed as Gorospe for multiple reasons, including the fact that Malzahn led them to the remains. The deceased person located also reportedly matches the physical description of Goropse including the clothing she was last seen wearing the night she disappeared. source

No charges have been filed at this time, police say investigators are working closely with the Coconino County Attorney’s Office on potential charges.
