Two people killed in a two-vehicle crash on I-35 early Sunday morning have been identified as Monte Johnston and the driver of the other car has been identified as Nripen Chinni, 32, of West Des Moines.
TheCount.com obtained the following photo of Johnston, 49 of Hartford, Iowa.
West Des Moines Police say they responded to a crash in the 1600-block of I-35 around 2:00am Sunday morning. Police say a preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was driving south on I-35 in the northbound lanes and collided with another vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles were killed in the crash. source
Police also say a passenger in the northbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. There’s no word on the condition of the person injured.
