Elizabeth Ann Taylor, has been named as the Lumberton, TX., woman accused of shooting her boyfriend to death Wednesday at the Eastex Freeway near Home Depot in Beaumont. Taylor was booked in jail for murder, police say.
Police later said Taylor, 70, shot her 58-year-old boyfriend, Larry Wayne Atwood, of Vidor and then pushed him out of a moving vehicle. Records show Taylor remains in jail and is being held on a no bond order. She is set to appear before a judge on Friday.
The Beaumont Police Department released the following statement Thursday morning:
On Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 5:22 p.m. Beaumont Police received a call in reference to a victim of a shooting in the 3900 block of Eastex. Upon officers arrival, officers located a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest area. Beaumont EMS was on scene attending to the victim. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital where he later died as a result of the shooting.
The victim was identified as w/m Larry Wayne Atwood, age 58 from Vidor.
Through the investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as w/f, Elizabeth Ann Taylor, age 70 from Lumberton. Taylor was later located in Lumberton where she was detained by deputies from Hardin County. Taylor was later transported to the Beaumont Police Station where she was interviewed. After being interviewed, Taylor was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in for Murder. The investigation is still on-going.
