Authorities have named Chizvest Summers Jr., as the man shot and killed on Prentice Street in the California neighborhood of Louisville, KY. The 24-year-old’s death marks the grim milestone of Louisville’s 83rd homicide of 2017.
Summers Jr., according to Deputy Coroner Rita Taylor, died from a gunshot wound to the chest at University Hospital, according to the coroner. The shooting happened Monday night.

According to public records, Summers had been out on parole after since May of 2017. He was under supervision until May, 2019. Summers was convinced of several felony crimes in 2014, including, armed robbery and trafficking cocaine.
