The Montgomery County Sheriff said a deputy-involved shooting that started as a drug sting, in a week long blitz on drug offenders, ended with a man fatally shot outside JJ Fish and Chicken Restaurant in Northridge, Ohio.
The Sheriff speaking on the matter said the dead man was found to be in possession of drugs amounting to personal use.
Multiple-agency force were in the area of Needmore Road and North Dixie Drive in Harrison Twp. around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday when a drug deal was witnessed in the parking lot of the JJ Fish and Chicken Restaurant. After observing the drug deal, the undercover officers approached the vehicles. “[The suspect] decided to flee the officers, as they typically do,” cops said. “In doing so he ran and struck a Trotwood officer, which we are told knocked him down.” source
“A Montgomery County deputy then fired upon the suspect in fear of the Trotwood officer’s life.”
Police said the suspect was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
