Joshua David Jimenez has been named as the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle at Quaker Avenue and 40th Street in Lubbock, Texas.
The fatal accident occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
Two pedestrians were crossing Quaker eastbound at 40th Street when one of them, Jimenez, 26, was struck by a Chevy Tahoe headed northbound on Quaker. Jimenez was taken to UMC where he was pronounced dead. His friend was not injured. source
LPD accident investigators were called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Jimenez’s uncle expressed his loss on Facebook:
Joel Jimenez: I’m devastated. A life taken way to [sic] soon. My nephew Joshua Jimenez has passed away. Please pay for his family.
