PICTURED: NC Man WANTED For Shooting WOMAN Arrested In 2009 Over Box-Cutter Attack

Huntersville authorities released an updated image of Johnathan Edward Williams, the man wanted over the shooting of a female in Huntersville, NC. TheCount.com has learned, Williams was also arrested in 2009 for attempted murder of a female.

Huntersville police were called to a home on Steuben Drive at approximately 4:40 a.m. Saturday morning. When they arrived, they reportedly found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. They removed her from the home, believing the shooter may still be inside the house.

For hours, SWAT tried to make contact with the alleged shooter in the home and entered the house at 11:50 a.m. Their search revealed that the shooter was gone. They believe the shooter ran away from the home while the shooting victim was being treated.

The woman was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK, according to police. Police said the shooter and victim knew one another.

In 2009, Williams was charged with trying to kill a 37-year-old woman with a box cutter. Williams, then 24, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, property damage and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Today, Williams was described as being a white male, 5-foot-9 and 160 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.
