Cameron Slade has been booked into the Decatur County Jail after officials identified him as the suspect in a brutal ax attack of a Decatur County man. The incident report indicates that Slade told a deputy that someone known as “Chopper’ was ‘messing with his daughter, and that he had killed the man.’
Police found John Kyle Hader, 60, lying on a bed in his home, covered in blood, with multiple ax wounds to his hand, head, and face. The incident took place at a mobile home park on Mt. Olive Church Road, GA.
Cameron’s father, Charles Slade, 73, called Bainbridge Police Monday, and told them they needed to come to his Palm Street home. Slade said that his son had come over in a truck, with a bloody ax in the back.
Cameron took the ax from the pickup truck and threw it into a growth of trees a short distance away. He then walked to the Jamestown Apartments.
Deputies found Cameron Slade in a nearby storage building and arrested him without incident.
