Sister’s Desperate Facebook Search For Missing R.I. Brother Ends Tragically

A sister’s search for her missing brother has come to a heartbreaking end on Tuesday after the body of a Coventry man was recovered by volunteers after more than a week of searching.

Sister, Sandy Benevides Courchesne, pleaded on Facebook for any information as to the whereabouts of her missing 46-year-old brother John Benevides.

Benevides was reported missing back on June 17.

Benevides’s niece, Amanda Benevides, also helped in the hunt for her uncle, leading a search-and-rescue mission Tuesday in the area of a river off Washington Street.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this difficult time.
