Jerik Christian Wynn of Anderson, NC., has been identified as the man who shot himself in Greenville County, North Carolina Saturday morning.
Deputies say, they located a gunshot victim at the QT gas station on Grove Road in Greenville County Saturday morning.
Greenville County Deputies said that prior to the shooting,Wynn, 21, and a 20-year-old Brandon James Manley (pictured below) had been driving in a vehicle and handling a firearm.
According to deputies, while Manley was driving, the victim, who was riding in the passenger seat, accidentally discharged the weapon, injuring himself. He was transported by EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital and listed in critical condition. Sunday, the coroner confirmed the victim had passed away. He was identified as 21-year-old Jerik Christian Wynn of Anderson. He died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Sgt. Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said investigators found multiple stolen firearms inside the vehicle, and Manley was charged with possession of a stolen pistol.
Manley also had multiple active warrants out of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Flood said.
No charges are expected to be filed in connection with the shooting.
