Deneka Frazier‘s 8-year-old son, Richard Kyles, is in critical condition after being shot in the head as he slept while she drove on Revere Street in Jackson, Mississippi, around 11 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
Investigators said a white Chevy Impala driven by Lakia Bradley, 35, and occupied by Kendrick Jackson, 26, followed Frazier’s vehicle for several blocks.
Frazier attempted to get away from the vehicle. When she turned on to Revere Street the front passenger of the white Chevy Impala, later identified as Jackson, fired at least a single shot into her vehicle striking the victim. Richard Kyles was asleep on the backseat and was shot in the back of the head, police said.
The vehicle fled the scene after the shooting, investigators said.
Jackson is reportedly the ex-boyfriend of Frazier and allegedly has been threatening her recently, authorities said.
Jackson was later caught following a traffic stop and Bradley was later captured at Club Elite on Terry Road. They were both arrested for aggravated assault and shooting in an occupied vehicle, investigators said. h/t wapt
