Shahim Body has been identified as man fatally shot Tuesday night in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Body, 26, was a beloved local musician and school volunteer.
Officers were called to the 5200 block of Leverett Street about 8:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting, Prince George’s County Police said. When they arrived, they found Body outside suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died hours later.
Police said Body was an Oxon Hill resident who lived on Livingston Road.
Police are working to identify a suspect and motive in the case. No arrests have been made at this time, police said Wednesday afternoon. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
