Police say a waitress at a New York IHOP restaurant pulled a steak knife on a Long Island family Friday morning after an argument over poor service. Several IHOP staff member were also said to have “circled the family” in a threatening manner during the unappetising incident.
The mother of the family says they were shocked and shaken up after she, her husband and their two special needs kids were surrounded by the pancake restaurant’s jeering wait staff over their complains about poor service.
The Massapequa IHOP says they can not discuss the matter at this time. A statement released by the franchise owner, Camile Gnolfo, says the business is cooperating with a police investigation.
No one was injured in the incident, however, authorities say the waitress was arrested on a charge of menacing. She is due in court later this month.
