By now most are familiar with the fact that Fox News have thrown themselves into a hole this month, starting with the firing of one of their most-beloved hosts of all time Bill O’Reilly. Well now, they continue to sink even deeper as rumors are circling that the Murdochs are planning another major shakeup at Fox, which will lead to the network’s co-President Bill Shine.
Inside sources are now revealing that if they let go of Shine, Sean Hannity will speak up.
“Sean is willing to take a bullet for Bill out of loyalty and he knows he’s holding a lot of chits there right now too,” a source said, according to Deadline. “If he threatens to leave, and he could, then that really could be the end of the place as we know it.”
Hannity also took the matter to Twitter, where he wrote:
A piece written by Gabriel Sherman for the New York Magazine, indicated that Shine asked James and Lachlan, Rupert Murdoch’s sons to issue a statement of support for him, but they refused to do so. According to an inside source, he also stated that Shine feels like he is about to be fired, complaining that Rupert “isn’t fighting for him” in the press, which was the main reason why he asked his sons for support in the first place.
But instead of sweeping it all under the rug, Hannity publicly stood up for Shine.
As of right now, the situation is not stable, and we can only wait to see what happens next.
