Gina Miller, a self-described Ohio psychic, bilked a dozen people out of more than $1 million in cash and valuables over 15 years. Miller told clients they were “cursed” and then claimed to have the power to protect them from dark forces.
Miller, 42, “ran a scam,” Ohio prosecutors said. She has been sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to repay $1.4 million.
Miller said in court she was sorry for her actions. The judge in Painesville gave her the maximum sentence, saying she didn’t deserve leniency. Miller had previously pleaded guilty to an aggravated theft charge in the scheme prosecutors say had operated for about 15 years. h/t nbc4i
Investigators say Miller warned clients they were cursed and she needed money to remove the curse. She often persuaded them to pay with cash, cars and jewelry.
