Long-time journalist and PBS newscaster Gwen Ifill has passed away. She was 61.
PBS confirmed the sad news on Monday. Ifill was perhaps best known as being the moderator and managing editor of PBS talk show Washington Week, but many know her as the co-anchor of PBS NewsHour.
She moderated two vice-presidential debates, between John Edwards and Dick Cheney in 2004; and between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden in 2008. She released her only book, The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama, in 2009. h/t dailybeast
