A vehicle carrying Worthington Kilbourne Water Polo team members and their families, was involved in a serious van verses grain truck accident near Toledo, Ohio.
The accident left at least one dead and five injured. The crash happened around 10:10 this morning near State Route 65 and State Route 281.
In a letter sent to parents, the district said:
Unfortunately, we have sad news to share. Thomas Worthington and Worthington Kilbourne water polo teams were traveling to an out-of-town tournament this morning. There was a serious automobile accident with a van carrying WKHS girls and family members. We do not know the condition of those in that van, but we do know there were life-threatening injuries.
At this time, our district crisis response team has been mobilized. We will have school counselors available to work with students and families. We are in the process of ensuring that our families involved are getting the support and resources that they need. h/t nbc4i
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and families at this difficult time.
