Cole Miller, a member of the Brisbane Barracudas Water Polo Club, has died after being attacked on the street by four men.
Miller, 18, was knocked unconscious on a city street after a night out on the town. He was scheduled to travel to compete at the national championships on Thursday.
Police said he was struck once in the back of the head and hit the pavement, leaving him with serious injuries. He was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition. Police confirmed he died this afternoon. h/t abc.net.au
Armstrong Renata and Daniel Maxwell, both 21, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court today charged with grievous bodily harm over the assault of Mr Miller.
