We all knew it wouldn’t be a white Christmas in Las Vegas this season, but nobody expected a high temperature of 73 degrees! Setting an all-time record.
The mercury hit a record 73 degrees at McCarran International Airport, clocking in at the highest temperature for this date since official records started being kept in 1937.
The previous record of 68 degrees was set in 1950, Foster said. The normal high for the day based is 56 degrees. The Las Vegas Valley has been under a high pressure system for the past few days with what could be described as a “warm bubble of air” over the area, Foster said. Temperatures, however, are expected to cool down this week, with the high expected drop to about 51 degrees by Friday, he said. Clear skies are expected all week with a few high clouds. h/t lasvegassun
