Lena Dunham is in the midst of canceling her book tour dates beginning with the European leg.
The actress and political activist is embroiled in a self-afflicted scandal after passages in her new book, “I’m Not That Kind Of Girl,” revealed an inappropriate relationship with her young sister, Grace.
Dunham, 28, announced Monday on Twitter that she was no longer going to attend events in Belgium and Germany.
“To my Belgian readers, so very sorry to miss the Antwerp Book Fair today but I can’t wait to come back and eat fries with you. Much love,” she wrote. “German readers: I am deeply sorry to miss tomorrow’s event in Berlin. I am so grateful for your energy and support. Mit viele liebe.”
In one paragraph, Dunham wrote that she offered her then-toddler sister “three pieces of candy if I could kiss her on the lips for five seconds, while another passage detailed exploring the youngster’s private part.
The explicit excerpts from Dunham’s book have caused outrage and concern on social media and in almost every other sector, contradicting blame she placed squarely on politically motivated right-wing press outlets.
