Over a decade ago, Carnell Alexander was ordered to pay child support after his ex-girlfriend named him as the father of her child, there’s one little hitch, Alexander is not the father, as DNA testing has since proved.
Though Alexander has been cleared by iron-clad science, the State of Michigan has ignored that one little detail, arresting him and ordering him to pay almost $70,000 in back payments.
The DNA evidence and testimony of Alexander’s ex-girlfriend both agree that he should not have to pay a dime for a child that isn’t his, but Michigan insists he still owes the money.
Alexander has refused to pay for the child in question, who is now 27 years old.
