Kaci Hickox, the nurse who landed in quarantine in New Jersey upon arriving back home from treating Ebola patients, is speaking out against the hellish living conditions she’s endured throughout her time in isolation.
“This is an extreme that is really unacceptable, and I feel like my basic human rights have been violated,” Kaci Hickox told media Sunday. “To put me through this emotional and physical stress is completely unacceptable.”

Hickox said she doesn’t have access to a shower or flushable toilet, and isn’t allowed to talk to her lawyer.
“The tent has a window, and doctors talk to me in normal clothes from outside the window,” she said. “So if there’s no risk to them talking to me from outside the window, it doesn’t make any sense that my lawyer wouldn’t be able to do the same.”
Although Hickox said she has tested negative for Ebola twice, she remains in quarantine.
