The NYPD’s “intensive citywide search” to find the drug dealer or dealers who sold heroin to Philip Seymour Hoffman, has intensified after authorities say the fallen actor had 49 glassine envelopes full of heroin at the ready.
Hoffman, who died Sunday of an overdose with the needle still in his arm, was shooting the deadly “Ace of Spades” brand of the sweet stuff, a deadly blend that has not been seen on the streets of Brooklyn since 2008.
The posh West Village apartment also contained numerous bottles of prescription medications.
An unnamed law enforcement source told the Post that the department’s newly appointed narcotics lead, Timothy Bugge, sent an internal email asking supervising officers if they had any specific knowledge or had dealt with the “Ace of Spades” branded heroin discovered in Hoffman’s flat.
