Captain & Tennille divorce over health coverage?

According to the divorce docs, obtained by TMZ, there’s special mention about health insurance coverage in the petition for divorce recently filed by Toni. That seems to be relevant because in 2009 Toni blogged that Daryl had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. But wait, there’s more..

In 2011 Toni updated the message, saying Daryl’s tremors were so bad he was embarrassed to go out in public … to restaurants, the movies, etc.

The blog has an update on Jan 16, 2014, saying “The Captain & Tennille appeared to the public as them being the ideal model for a ‘rock-solid’ married pair. But almost all people naturally evolve over time, & sometimes hidden feelings start to be uncovered …”

Here’s what’s unclear — whether it’s possible Toni really filed for health insurance reasons … whether his coverage might be better if they were divorced.

There is only one thing that has not worked out the way I had hoped. Daryl told me this morning that he is not up to performing the three C&T songs I had hoped he could do. Many of you know he is dealing with a neurological condition (not Parkinsons, but something similar) that causes him to have tremors…pretty severe at times…. that interfere with his ability to play keyboards. Some days he does pretty well…. other days his playing is severely compromised. His condition is exacerbated by any kind of stress, and worrying about his ability to play has made his condition worse. Also, his sister, Carmen, passed away recently, and he is trying to deal with that loss in his own way. I hope all of you understand that he would be there if he could, but it isn’t possible this time. Maybe next year.

Toni made more revealing comments on her blog, but not about Daryl’s health.. The musings leads one to believe that maybe the divorce could be over the age old problem of finances..

(Toni’s 70th birthday dinner) I was so proud of Daryl! . . . He even paid the bill, with a limited amount of moaning and eye-rolling at the expense, with his own credit card! That card hasn’t seen the light of day in YEARS!!!!

On a side note, Toni can afford her own dinner, CelebrityNetWorth.com has the singer clocking in at a golden $9 million.

So is this pending divorce really about something noble on Toni’s part? Or is she just tired of how cheap Daryl is? Have these muskrats simply fallen out of love? What do you think?
