Laura Linney is starting the new year as a new mom.
The actress, 49, gave birth to a baby boy on Jan. 8, reports People. The baby’s name is Bennett Armistead Schauer.

Linney married Marc Schauer in May 2009 after a two-year engagement.
Linney did not announce her pregnancy and has largely stayed out of the public spotlight lately.
A three-time Oscar nominee (You Can Count on Me, Kinsey, The Savages), Linney most recently starred in the TV series The Big C.
