It is safe to say, cops everywhere – are on edge.. Another case of ‘shoot first ask questions later,’ has left an off-duty firefighter dead after Chicago cops mistook his wallet for a handgun.
Police say the man jumped out of his car and took a “shooter’s stance,” while holding a dark object, later discovered to be his wallet. Witnesses say the man was simply trying to show officers that he was a fireman.
The shooting went down at a store parking lot in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.
The man was shot down in broad daylight at a CVS pharmacy, but the menacing object turned out to be his wallet.
