Amid all the celebrity scandals and dramatic stories we see every year – Miley Cyrus‘s “performance” at the VMA‘s, for example – one thing that seems relatively constant over the years is that plenty of Hollywood big shots seem to have gambling problems. Of course, we might have the same problems if we had spare millions to play with. But nonetheless, here’s a rundown of 10 noteworthy celebrities with gambling problems!

10. 50 Cent

The rapper’s claim to fame in the gambling arena is that in 2012, he won $500,000 betting on the NFL‘s NFC Championship football game. He claimed to have made the bet as directed by voices in his head – maybe they’re the ones telling him to get rich or die trying.

9. Matt Damon

Damon seems like more of an enthusiast than an addict, but in addition to starring in “Rounders,” his name seems to pop up in connection with various other stars and in a few “illegal gambling ring” stories here and there.

8. Charlie Sheen
Sheen is said to spend obscene amounts of money gambling on sports. Perhaps the reason that Sheen has disappeared to some extent is the emergence of online casinos. At Bet Fair, for example, Sheen could be enjoying a virtually limitless array of casino options, from video poker, to live online tournaments, to various jackpot options. It’s an enormous online betting environment, and it’s not too hard to imagine celebrity gambling enthusiasts mingling with the public in the online community.

7. Tiger Woods
Woods probably has more money than he knows how to spend, and apparently that’s led him to a great deal of sports betting and other casino activity. According to Top Bet, Woods has a $1 million limit at the MGM Grand in Vegas.

6. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Mayweather – the highest earning athlete on the planet – is known to throw down 7-figure bets on sporting events.

5. Ashton Kutcher

Kutcher’s a bit of a mystery. A known gambling fan, he claims to have once been involved in the “largest national sports betting syndicate in America.” Alright, then.

4. Tobey Maguire
Maguire has had a few gambling issues in the past, the most noteworthy of which being when he was busted in 2011 for a massive illegal poker tournament.

3. Michael Jordan

MJ bets largely on his own golf matches and on sporting events, as they say, but he’s known to spend a great deal of time in Vegas. Many even suspect that his temporary retirement from the NBA, and his brief pro baseball career, was a cover-up for a suspension due to illegal gambling. We’ll probably never know.

2. Ben Affleck

Affleck has supposedly been treated for gambling addiction in the past, but he’s also had a great deal of success. In fact, he once won a California state poker championship!

1. Charles Barkley

Chuck has admitted to blowing over $10 million in his life on gambling. That’s about all we need to say.
