Shakira ex-boyfriend… Can you believe the extent that some jilted lovers will go? This time it’s Shakira ex-boyfriend suing the singer for a whopping $100,000,000,000,000Z! OKAY Maybe not that much, but a lot. Check it out, read on.
Dude’s name is Antonio de la Rua, and he is suing she wolf for what he claims to be “his share of past and future partnership profits..” La RUDE is seeking at least $100 million, citing damages for alleged breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
The suit was filed on November 20th in Supreme Court of the State of New York, a month after the singer filed a writ of summons against de la Rua seeking damages for misappropriation of funds. In the suit, Shakira’s ex-boyfriend said that he had a standing arrangement with the singer to act as her business manager, although there was reportedly no written agreement for the position. The documents indicates that “”De la Rúa spent more than six years building the Shakira brand into one the most valuable pop-star brands in the entertainment industry. The profits earned by the partnership in 2011 and 2012, and millions of dollars that it will earn in the future, were generated by the deals he conceptualized, originated, negotiated and executed.” The lawsuit also noted the course of the pair’s relationship, which began in 2000 when they first met in Argentina, but indicated that the development of their business partnership started in 2004. The suit said that when the romantic nature of the relationship ended in 2010, the singer wrote on her website, “”We continue to be partners in our business and professional lives.” The suit claimed, however, that Shakira later instructed an attorney to “terminate de la Rua, as if he were a mere employee.”
