Bumble Bee tuna in a massive recall involving millions of units! The recall also includes Chicken of the Sea! A statement said the recall was related to an “issue on a manufacturing line, which has been corrected.” It seems Charlie Tuna subcontracts Bumble Bee to can their carp… I mean can their tuna.

“We’re voluntarily recalling products to ensure the highest margin of safety and quality,” Mavity said.

The Bumble Bee recall includes 5-ounces cans of chunk light and chunk white tuna in water and oil sold from Jan. 17 until Wednesday, with best-by dates from Jan. 14, 2016, to Jan. 18, 2016. Specific code numbers are listed here, in a company statement posted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The Chicken of the Sea recall includes 5-ounce cans of chunk light tuna in oil sold Jan. 23 to Wednesday, with a best-by date of Jan. 15, 2017; it includes chunk light tuna in water sold Feb. 4 to Feb. 27, with a best-by date of Jan 18, 2017. Specific code numbers are listed here, in a statement on the FDA website.

Both companies say consumers can call them with questions. The number for Chicken of the Sea is (800) 597-5898. The Bumble Bee number is (800) 800-8572.
