F Lee Bailey may have passed Maine’s state bar exam, but the the Board of Bar Examiners voted to deny his licence to practice law!
The famed attorney, 79, who represented among others, O.J. Simpson and Patty Hearst has been officially denied a request to practice law in the state of Maine.
In the 5-4 vote, the Maine board said that Bailey had not demonstrated by “clear and convincing evidence that he possesses the requisite honesty and integrity” to practise law in Maine. Ouch.
The denial may stem from Bailey’s mishandling of $6 million worth of stock for a former client.
He was a member of the Dream Team, a defense consortium that helped OJ Simpson win his freedom in the 1995 murder trial of Nicole Brown Simpson and her lover, Ronald Goldman. If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit.
