Last night’s Kennedy Center Honors, honored Led Zeppelin‘s Robert Plant, Jimmy page and John Paul Jones with a tear-jerking rendition of “Stairway to Heaven” performed by Heart, and let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the joint.
The classic 1971 hit, written by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page was performed by Ann and Nancy Wilson along with two choirs, a string section and Jason Bonham on drums.
Plant visibly wept as he listened to the chilling tribute at times exchanging a wink and a nod with former bandmates Page and Jones.
Other uptempo Zeppelin tunes were performed by Lenny Kravitz, Kid Rock, and the Foo Fighters.
