This would have probably gone unnoticed as just another Black Friday brawl but Twitter users who witnessed the event in real time revealed the fight involved rival gang members.
In the midst of early Black Friday shopping at a Kentwood MI., Mall 1:00 am tweets started appearing describing a “gang fight at woodland mall!” Cops eventually made it to the scene and had to use pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Two suspected gang members were arrested.
Other tweets described the cop’s involvement in the ordeal, “Cops tackled them and sprayed pepper spray, everyone in that wing started coughing and sneezing.” While another tweeted, “Everyone is coughing at Woodland Mall! guess someone sprayed pepper spray and everyone’s running away from jcpenney, coughing and gagging.”
Beefed up security at the mall since an even bigger event in 2011 seemed to have no effect on keeping the peace this year.
