Item Found In Conn. Barn Worth $16 Million +

PEBBLE BEACH — A 1936 Mercedes-Benz — found in a Connecticut barn — was just valued at $16 million — plus.

The super rare Mercedes 540K Special Roadster is expected to fetch at least $16.4 million, which will be an all-new record for any car sold at auction.

The 17-foot-long car, believed to be among only 12 left in the world, will be auctioned by Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

It was discovered the 540K was owned by German Baroness Gisela von Krieger, whose family brought it to the United States after World War II.

Lawyers sorting out her estate after her death found the gem hidden in a Connecticut barn, where it had been parked three decades earlier.
