After “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” fans threw a fit over Michael Bay’s announcement, that he and the producers behind the Turtles movie remake were changing the backstory of the ‘how the Turtles came about’, Bay has announced another major change.
Bay stated on his blog, that not ‘he’, but Paramount Pictures had decided to drop the “Teenage Mutant” part of the title, leaving only “Ninja Turtles” to be the new title of the movie remake.
Bay explains the new change, trying to ease the die-hard Turtles fans once again, saying:
“Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.”
Is the new title better than say… “Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles”? I know a lot of you are ticked about Bay changing the Turtles’ backstory, and NOW making them aliens- not mutants tainted by radioactive ooze.
