Martin Sheen and 67 other actors, have come to together to file a suit against the Screen Actors Guild actor’s union, claiming that the upcoming SAG and AFTRA (American Federation of Television Radio Artists) ‘merge vote’, has some deceit and dishonesty attached in the fine print.
Reuters news outlet says, “The lawsuit claims SAG has been dishonest about the effects of the proposed merger and is withholding information. It asks a federal judge to put a halt to a vote, scheduled for next month.”

Is Martin Sheen the ringleader in this suit? Does he really care that much about how the merger will effect Screen Actors Guild members? This must have to do with losing money somehow, or else I doubt if they would give a darn! Maybe the actors are pulling a publicity stunt? That’s what SAG’s rep says…
SAG fired back at Sheen and said, “Any suggestion that the members have not been fully and fairly informed is preposterous. We have scheduled more than 50 informational meetings across the country, have posted all of the merger documents on the website for over 4 weeks, and we have afforded the merger opponents the right to send an opposition statement at the unions’ expense as part of the referendum package. This filing is simply a public relations stunt.”
But that’s cool if Sheen and 67 other actors are in fact looking out for the team, and trying to make sure this merger get it’s flaws corrected before everyone signs their John Hancock!
