1500 JFK Pictures Released By National Archive

Washington, United States, – January 13, 2011. This photograph, part of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, taken on August 12, 1962 shows President John F. Kennedy as he sails aboard the Manitou off the coast of Maine. This image is one of the more than 1,500 images that the National Archives has released in their “Access to a Legacy” project, which is an online digital archive of high interest material from President John F. Kennedy’s official and personal.

The collection consist of photographs, audio recordings, speech drafts, films and other material.

August 28, 1963 shows President John F. Kennedy as he meets with the Leaders of the March On Washington, left to right, Secretary of Labor Willard Wirtz, Mathew Ahmann, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., John Lewis, Rabbi Joachim Prinz, Rev. Eugene Carson Blake, A. Philip Randolph, President Kennedy, Vice President Johnson, Walter Ruether, Whitney Young, Floyd McKissick. White House, Oval Office.
