I don’t know how MGM is technically doing this, but they are now coughing up the funding for the 23rd installment of James Bond, which was originally supposed to be released in 2011. MGM filed bankruptcy in 2010 and they couldn’t get anyone to buy the company or pull them out of their gaping debt hole, but now they’ve finally obtained funding with the help of studio “Spyglass”. Okay MGM, you know that all, I mean ALL bets are on Bond 23 for you to get your company back up to par.
Daniel Craig will be returning as James Bond, Sam Mendes is set to direct the movie which is written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. The story is said to ‘begin where Quantum Of Solace has left off’.
The fate of MGM staying alive or not, depends on Bond 23′s success or failure, as well as their other upcoming cash cow “The Hobbit”.
Bond 23 is set to release in theaters November 9, 2012.
