I think many people need to get the facts straight about the accident in Indiana. Gabriela’s car was not the car being pulled, her car was on the other side of the freeway with the rest of us. I was also an extra on the same set. While it was done in the early evening hours it was very much daylight out there, there was never any night filming while we were driving our cars. Also anyone in the industry knows full well that the studio can’t make any statements at this time as there is still an investigation going on. All of us who were there that week pray daily for Gabriela that she can recover from this. Unless you were there to see what we saw you really can’t imagine it at all, many of us keep reliving it over and over again and we are all trying to deal with how we feel and how Gabriela’s family feels, Show a little more class and respect. The state police has the film footage that should show what happened and until you all have seen it you should not be judge and jury.

from talking from my lawyer, charges against negligence and disregard for the safety of others, basically, can be brought in favor of Cedillo. The cable was supposed to be certified to pull a lot more than the weight of Cedillo plus the car.

Hello Lisa,
I am sorry that you have lost such a good friend. Especially like this. I don’t have the experience that you do but I am a little bit familiar. About 15 years ago a movie was being shot in our little city and I had volunteered myself and my sailboat as an extra. I wasn’t looking for any payment or gratuity it was just to be a fun kind of thing. Other people that I knew were looking for the $$. What surprised me about the biz is how $$ tight the filmmakers are and how quickly they are willing to put innocent people in harms way. I have heard stories and have seen in mine on personal experiences about how the extras are treated. I’m sure injury and death occurs during the shoots but it doesn’t seem to make the main news ticker. I know this is difficult for you but I for one appreciate your comments and for you putting this story up on your website. As always I wish you the very best.

Lisa!!! you are in a combat zone!!!! The Labor department has safety regulations for the work place. no stunt union? You lucky that you’ve got your money without giving any sexual favors in return. take care, and keep away from what it is evil and cheapos. My prayers always go for the victims, in this case Gabriella Cedillo.

Extra work is demeaning. I did it once for a reality show out here in Chicago and the crew (and girls working at the bar) treated us like we were a joke. I don’t need that. I refuse to do extra work to “get discovered” it doesn’t happen that way. Do what I did and get a union agent.
