Public outrage is mounting against usually squeaky clean Actress Jennifer Aniston for her use of the word “Retard” while appearing on Regis and Kelly.
Aniston, 41, was speaking to Regis and DJ, Kristin Cruz about pictures of her featured in Harper’s Bazar. Aniston portrays Barbra Streisand in the spread and when she was asked how she got in character for the shoot, Aniston’s response, “I play dress-up. I do it for a living, like a retard.”
Even though Aniston got some laughs from the studio audience for her insensitive quip, many watching on TV strongly objected, so much so, many are calling for a boycott of Aniston’s latest celluloid offering “The Switch.”
One Twitterer kept it plain and simple,
MarieColette:
Way to go Jennifer Aniston, any retard knows that you don’t say “retard” on live television. .

I am reading what I have written and then your reply "hasbeen" and am at a loss for you comments. I was not defending her. Actually, I was talking about my mistake of using the R word. Since your profile has been made just so you could comment on this short news story, I cannot take you very serious. Your profile to blog here is "hasbeen Aniston". Will I see you commenting on other stories with that profile weeks and months from now? I do not think so. YOu have a "bone to pick" with her and this incident is one of many and you are now dumping on me in an attempt to quench your fire. I did not defend her but rather talked about what I have done wrong in the past. I have used her comment and reflected upon my mistakes. If you want to talk about my mistakes then let's go for it. But, your comment about how much her movie made and it helping hurt her movie attendance is amusing. You wish that a mention of the R word would keep away the 18-49 demographic that spend most of the money on adverstising and other income generating sources but would be mistaken. How many 20 years olds are running around offended at a 40 year old movie star using the R word on a tv show? Not many and it is already forgotten. There are plenty of movies she has done in the last five years that did not do well. But, for you to attempt to bite my head off for me admitting that I made a personal mistake in using an insensitive word should have been praise. But, you dismissed that and decided to attack me for something I have not done. I never stated really anything about what she should do as you are demanding. I personally do not see her comment as the end of times here for us but have not made a bold statement until now. If you look at my blog that you are attacking me for, you will see I was reflecting more about myself. See, I personally do not care about her and do not take her serious when she talks about world issues or about the r word. You obviously take her very serious and I suspect you fall under the 25 year old or less demographic. I cannot see someone over 30 years old get totally bent out of shape as you have here. I do not see it in the news anymore and using the R word is similiar to using the M word or midget for those that have no idea what that may be. There are many people that have no idea that the R word and the M word are politically incorrect. What I stated in the beginning of my blog was that there is a list of words now that you can identify by a single letter that are offensive. Then, I talked about how I used the R word without knowing how offensive it was to some people. I talked specifically how I made my mistake and how it was offensive. Then, I said that I learned my lesson much younger than Jennifer did which meant to say in a subtle manner is that I was not clueless at her age or in her forties. See, I made my mistake in my thrities and learned from it probably about ten years earlier than Jennifer. What I was suggesting is she is learning very late in life that the R word is not acceptable and should have know better working in the industry she has been. You never really read my words and your attack is not accurate but I am talking to someone with a profile of "hasbeen anniston". I know you probably do not like being verbally ripped apart from somene with the name "nakedbullwinkle" but that is my name so do not wear it out! I have been blogging here before your arrival, during your temporary stay, and long after your never return? I suggest you set up another profiles or profiles of other movies stars by their names and begin with: The remaining cast of Friends, the Hogans, Simpsons, Kardashians, the Housewives, the entire cast of the Jersey Shore, Pauly Shore for being Pauly Shore, the nation of Iran, North Korea, Syria, Osama Bin Laden, Barak Obama for his failed 1 trillion economic stimulus bill and the no summer of recovery 2010, Bret Favre for never retiring, Nancy Pelosi for failing to drain the swamp, and most of Hollywood for being their shallow selves and using the R word too much? ;) YOu have a nice day "hasbeen Anniston" and good luck with your next blogs and I suggest you start with the cast of the Jersey Shore. You will receive more sympathy for attacking anyone blogging about that show. You may even get lucky and find someone that likes what and how you say things. But my last piece of advice for you is to read a comment slowly and find the message or messages in it before you pull out one aspect of it and not totally described it properly and make guesses at to what the writer was saying? Then, do not make a blog profile name of the thing you are angry and filled with hate about and then try to speak coherently in a blog. It just makes no sense but this has been a fly by night response and I suspect you are on other blog sites doing the same thing and fishing for anyone who does not appear to ripping Jennifer's head off so you can start yelling at people. I suspect you did not get that autograph you wanted from her or had some love affair with her as an actress and the love is obviously lost here. I do not think there are too many people this morning that are breathing fire and brimstone over this incident. I would expect such a reaction to Dr Laura's comments and her use of the N word multiple times with one caller but I do not see any "Dr Laura Old Fart Hasbeen" profiles yet around here but maybe you have not got to that part of your day? Anyway, thanks for responding and I enjoyed our discussion and you have a nice day. I have not proofread anything I said so forgive any typos or suggesting of you take more time to read before you write. Wait, I need to revise that. You need to read more before you write a reply. That makes sense now. Sorry for that confusion for you. I want us to be very clear about what we are saying to each other before we go ripping heads off and taking corpses home in a verbal joust celebration. I would never do that ;)
Bullwinkle, how do YOU know it was a "mistake?" Has she SAID it was a mistake? Has she APOLOGIZED to the Down Syndrome community? Has she uttered one word? NO, so stop making excuses for her. She said what she said and has to be held responsible for it. Her film will make less than $8 mil at the box office this weekend, so it appears those who have been insulted are staying away. It seems they aren't quite as "retarded" as she would hope.
She doesn't seem to be too intelligent
Jeez, the is the C word, N word, M word, R word, and that is the beginning. I personally would not use the r word, retard, but made the mistake one time in the same context as she has done here. I made a comments that they were a bunch of retards to the shock of someone listening. I never meant for it to be hurtful but it was considered to be so and I lived and learned. But, I was much younger than Jenny poo when I learned my lesson.
