VA Man Shot And Killed Friday Night In Danville Identified As Pat Gunn

DANVILLE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Patrick Andreaus Gunn, of Danville, has been identified by Danville police as the man killed Friday night on Paxton Street, Danville, VA.

“Pat” Gunn, 21, was found suffering from gunshot wounds after police arrived to 700 block of Paxton Street in Danville on Friday evening on calls of shots fired.

Identified: VA Man Dead After Accidentally Shooting Self In Leg In Richmond Thursday

RICHMOND, VA. (THECOUNT) — Daniel Alexander, of Richmond, VA., has been identified as the man killed after accidentally shooting himself in the leg, according to an initial Chesterfield Police investigation.

Alexander, 29, was identified by Chesterfield Police as the man who died at the hospital following an accidental shooting in the 5600 block of Handel Court, in Richmond, at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday.

“When police arrived, they found 29-year-old Daniel Alexander suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Daniel was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries,” a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. “The initial investigation indicates that his death was a result of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot. Sad Update: 2nd VA Child Dies After Shot By Tysons Corner Mother Veronica Youngblood

TYSONS CORNER, VA. (THECOUNT) — A second child shot by Tysons Corner mother, Veronica Youngblood, has sadly passed away.

Youngblood, 33, is accused of murdering the two McLean girls in a shooting that occurred over last weekend, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Lincoln Circle in Fairfax County.

The female child had been taken to the hospital and remained in critical condition for days until ultimately succumbing to her injuries early Saturday morning. Additional charges are anticipated for Veronica Youngblood. Continue reading

Newport News Man Samuel Elijah Hill ID’d As VA Victim In Fatal Hampton Shooting Thursday

HAMPTON, VA. (THECOUNT) — Samuel Elijah Hill, from Newport News, has been identified as the victim found suffering from gunshot wounds Thursday night in Hampton, VA.

Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after Hill, 33, was found fatally shot Thursday evening. Officers were dispatched to the area on calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Lincoln Street just before 10 p.m.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.

DE Men Killed In Crash After Semi-Truck Careens Off Virginia Beach Bridge Friday Identified

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (THECOUNT) — Two Delaware men killed Friday after a semi-truck they were traveling in plunged off a Virginia Beach bridge have been identified as driver, Jervone Rakeem Hall and passenger, Christopher Fenner.

Rakeem, 32, and Fenner, 29, were named as the occupants of a tractor-trailer that exited the roadway and leapt off the side of a bridge in Virginia Beach after making contact with another vehicle during a rainstorm.

It was raining heavily when the semi-truck collided with a van. The collision caused the truck to crash off of the bridge and into the water below.

A release says Fenner’s body was pulled from the truck Saturday evening, while Hall’s body was found 8 miles (13 kilometers) off Fisherman’s Island on Sunday afternoon. Initial news reports had said authorities believed the body in the truck was Hall’s. Continue reading

VA Man Kevin Mobley Arrested In Death Of Henrico Mother Found Dead In Richmond Vehicle

HENRICO COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Kevin Lee Mobley, of Henrico, has been arrested in the murder of Virginia mother Cherrelle Lee Woolfolk, also of Henrico.

Woolfolk, 30, was found dead in a vehicle near Pilots LN., & Engleside Dr., in Richmond, last Sunday at around 8:30 p.m. Today, Mobley, 30, was charged with 2nd degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, according to police.

Woolfolk was discovered dead in a vehicle parked at Pilots LN & Elberon Ct on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at about 8:35 p.m. The mother had been shot. Continue reading

VA Men ID’d As Victims In Sunday Double-Fatal Tazewell Head-On Crash

TAZEWELL, VA. (THECOUNT) — Brandon N. Patterson, of North Tazewell and Jeffrey A. Vance, of Cedar Bluff, have been named as the victims in a Sunday Tazewell County Route 631 two-vehicle crash.

Patterson, 20, and Vance, 32, were identified as the victims in a double-fatal two-vehicle accident on Route 631 near Route 607 in Tazewell County at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred after Vance exited the roadway for an unknown reason, crossed center lines and struck a 2005 Nissan 350Z head-on.

The Nissan was driven by Patterson.

Both Vance and Patterson were pronounced dead at the scene.

VA Woman Carla Waller ID’d As Victim In Fatal Richmond Crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Carla C. Waller of Albemarle County has been identified as the woman killed in a crash on North Courthouse Road in Chesterfield on Monday afternoon.

Waller, 54, was operating a 2005 Cadillac CTS north on North Courthouse Road when she was struck by a 2005 Mazda Tribute traveling south on North Courthouse Road.

She was pronounced dead at the scen

“A 2005 Cadillac CTS was turning left out of a parking lot to head north on North Courthouse Road when it was struck by a 2005 Mazda Tribute traveling south on North Courthouse Road,” a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. “Two passengers in the Cadillac were transported an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mazda was transported to an area hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.” Continue reading

Draper VA Woman, Julie Tygart, ID’d As Victim In Pulaski County Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

Draper, VA., woman, Julie Tygart, has been named as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle Pulaski County crash.

Tygart died after early Tuesday morning after being ejected from a vehicle driven by, Samantha Collier, also of Draper.

Deputies said a 2000 Jeep Cherokee ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Richmond VA Police Officer Who Shot Unarmed HS Teacher On I-95 Monday Identified

The Richmond Police officer who shot and killed Marcus-David Lamar Peters on Interstate 95 Monday night was identified by authorities as Officer Michael Nyantakyi.

Nyantakyi is a ten-year veteran of the Richmond Police Department. He remains on administrative leave while police investigate the shooting, according to Richmond Police.

Nyantakyi shot Marcus-David Lamar Peters, a 24-year-old Essex County high school teacher, during a strange encounter on the interstate. Continue reading
