The Casino promoted ahead for Justin and Jessica to show on their grand opening night. The two were invited as special guests to perform the ribbon cutting. Opening night came around, and Justin and Jessica were never present. They were announced as ‘no shows.’ So we thought…
The day of the grand opening…
My friend and former dance choreographer Julie Bandy happens to be the head dance choreographer for the Indiana Live Dancers at the casino. My other friend Suzy, happened to be guest dancing that grand opening night. I remember getting a phone call earlier that day from my Mom Nancy telling me that “Justin Timberlake is going to be at Indiana Live’s grand opening night!” I then called Suzy, who was with Julie, and told them the news about Justin’s appearance. While we were on the phone, they were on their way to the casino. They told me that they knew nothing nor heard anything about Justin Timberlake showing up for the grand opening. Later that night I text messaged Suzy and asked how the night went and how Justin was. She said, “Justin never showed up. I’m not surprised because when I bartended downtown, the club frequently made rumors of celebrity appearances but it was just b.s. to get people in the door and spend $$$.”

Lindsay Lohan
Another day, another allegation of Lindsay Lohan stealing.
The sometimes actress/famous party-goer is being sued by chemist Jennifer Sunday, who alleges that Lohan’s new spray-tan line is stolen property. Sunday claims that Lohan and her associate, Lorit Simon, stole the formula from her and are now making money off her creation.
In all, Lohan and co. are being sued for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices. Mama mia.
Lohan, of course, denies the lawsuit and says that her spray tan line, named Sevin Nyne, is completely original. I guess a judge or court will decide. In the mean time Lindsay, maybe you should try and get another job in Hollywood, where everyone steals and no one gets in trouble for it.

Ready for war!
What the hell is going on with former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean?! Is TMZ right, is the beauty queen really suing the Miss California USA organization? She’s only doing damage to herself! Can’t she just let this whole thing die?
As I stated, TMZ is reporting that Ms. Prejean is ready to sue. In response, Miss California USA’s lawyer wrote up an angry (but justified) letter. Basically, he said that if Ms. Prejean doesn’t stop bad-mouthing the organization and its director then they will spill the beans about her. If she tries to sue the company for defamation she better be ready for story after story about how rude and unprofessional she was. They’re ready for this war if Carrie wants it. Sounds like a pretty serious warning.

Thirty Seconds to Mars
Virgin records, also known as EMI Records, put a lawsuit on Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars for $30 Million!
Why?! Apparently, one rumor was that the band did not put out enough records as fast as Virgin wanted them produced. The other rumor which is the TRUTH, is that the band signed a 9 year contract with Virgin, which happens to be illegal because California law states you can only sign a contract for 7 years, not 9 years. These long contracts are normal with the majority of hot artists’ record deals. Well, in the last year, the band was trying to terminate their contract with Virgin for a few legit reasons. First, 9 years should have been 7 years. Second, The band has not received a single penny for selling 2 million records. Third, the band is somehow in $1.4 Million of debt for unknown reasons, which is owed to Virgin. The band is wondering if their next record will rake in enough money to pay off their unknown million dollars of debt?? Will Virgin take the money again?
This battle between 30 Secs to Mars and Virgin has been boiling for the last year. Within this time, the band has been working on a new record even featuring artist Kanye West. The band is really excited and said they have been “putting our hearts, hopes, and dreams into making a record that means absolutely everything to us.”
With all that the band has been through with Virgin Records along the way to their success, fame and notoriety, the band and Virgin Recs decided to call a truce rather than proceeding with the $30 Million lawsuit. They dished out their differences and 30 Seconds to Mars decided that they will renegotiate their contract with Virgin and resign.

Twilight
Our friends over at Hollyscoop.com report that Stephanie Meyer, the writer of the Twilight series, is being sued by a former college friend from Brigham Young University. Stephanie is being sued for plagiarism of the Twilight series!
The person who is suing Stephanie is her former college buddy, Heidi Stanton. Heidi filed a lawsuit against Stephanie in Utah last Tuesday, April 14th. Heidi states in the papers, “Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie [Twilight] with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together.”
But Stephanie says that the Twilight series ‘came to her in a dream back in 2003.’ She completed Twilight three months later.
Hollyscoop.com also sadly reports that “Production of New Moon has since been “put on hold” until the case is resolved.” It’s scheduled for release in November 20, 2009.
Maybe that’s why the cast is out partying!

On the down side, Michael Jackson has been sued yet again. On the plus side, the suit has absolutely nothing to do with underage children.
The son of the king of Bahrain, or as his closest friends refer to him, Sheik Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, has filed a $7 million breach-of-contract suit against the pop star, claiming Jackson reneged on an exclusive recording contract.
In his lawsuit, which will be heard in London court later today, the sheik claims he paid Jackson more than $7 million as an advance on two albums, a stage show and a planned autobiography, built him a recording studio and gave him a Rolls-Royce worth roughly $275,000.
However, while Jackson was more than willing to accept the funds, the royal said that when the time came to actually record the promised music, Jackson, well, beat it.
Te erstwhile King of Pop has claimed all payments he received were “gifts” and that no project or contract was ever finalized. He voiced similar sentiments back in September 2006, when he announced he had split from Two Seas Records, the Bahrain-based record label he cofounded with Al-Khalifa, after just five months (and, for those keeping count, zero records).

Barbie and her company ‘Mattel’ SUED and SHUT DOWN the Bratz Doll corporation.
Barbie and her betches claim that their former designer Carter Bryant, sketched out and created the zillion dollar Bratz phenomenon while still on contract and working with Mattel.
Bratz had to award Mattel $100 MILLION in damages, and only 5% of the $2 BILLION that Mattel tried to win from Bratz.
Mattel still has enough heart to let Bratz Dolls stay on the shelves for Christmas.
Maybe Mattel needed the money for wasting it on the Lindsay Lohan Doll!!!

Famous Photographer Bert Stern is in the news again for his shoot “The Last Sitting” he did with Marilyn Monroe just before her death.

This time he is not trying to auction off Marilyn’s photos. Nor is he trying to sell the photos she DID NOT or EVER want the public to see.
He only just tried to sue three photographers for $1.7 million last year after they told him they had found seven film transparencies of the shoot.
Now, these guys are finally settling the dispute.
Associated Press reports that photographers Donald Penny and Michael Weiss said colleague Robert Bryan had found the film in curbside garbage in midtown Manhattan in the 1970s and kept it in a shoe box as memorabilia for the last 35 years.
(Yeah! Like you can just find a shoebox of Marilyn’s photos sitting by the trash!??)
Penny and Weiss are actually not asking for money for the Marilyn photos.
Their lawyer, Jamie Brickell, said Stern acknowledges in the settlement that his clients did nothing wrong. Brickell said Penny, Weiss and Bryan never asked Stern for any money; he said they only discussed returning the transparencies in exchange for a set of prints that they could keep.
AND THE VERDICT IS…
Brickell and Stern’s lawyer, Stephen Weingrad, said Stern, Penny and Weiss will develop nine sets of photos from the transparencies and sell them. He said the issue of how the proceeds are to be distributed is confidential.
So Bert is going to use Marilyn to pay rent again! Here we go again! Whoring out Marilyn is like a daily chore! Not into it.

Drummer/Musician Travis Barker already sued the companies that are responsible for the burning plane crash that he and friend DJ Adam Goldstein survived.
Adam Goldstein a.k.a. DJ AM, is NOW stepping up and suing the same companies responsible for the plane crash.
On Tuesday, Adam filed his complaint for “negligence” and “breach of contract”at the L.A. Superior Court.
Adam has not specified the dollar amount for which he wishes to receive for the case, but he did state that he wishes to earn money to pay for his pain and suffering, medical expenses and other damages.
