Jon & Kate Plus Significant Ratings Drop
As if you haven’t heard, Jon & Kate Plus 8 returned to TLC last night after a month’s hiatus. Good news for the network right? Eh, not so much. While the show is still a cultural touchstone and dominates most tabloid mags, it no longer dominates in the ratings.
Last night’s back-to-back episodes had about 4 million viewers. The episode aired before the long break? About 10 million viewers. Ouch.
While 4 million viewers isn’t shabby, it certainly isn’t good news to TLC, which was probably counting on several more seasons of the series. With their personal problems being paramount in their lives, I can imagine that Jon and Kate Gosselin (especially Jon, who has gone on record saying how much he dislikes being filmed) are weighing their options. Meanwhile, TLC might want to invest more attention in The Little Couple. Have you seen that show, by the way? It’s awesome.

“Octuplet mother Nadya Suleman has signed agreements for each of her 14 children to earn $250 a day to star in a reality television show.
The contracts filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court guarantee the children will collectively earn about $250,000 over three years. The contracts require a judge’s approval.
European production company Eyeworks has inked the deal with Suleman. Eyeworks lists “Breaking Bonaduce” and “The Biggest Loser” among its television credits.
The show is slated to begin filming Sept. 1, according to the documents.
The payments outlined in the contracts say Suleman’s kids will collectively earn $125,000 for 36 days of shooting in the first year of production, $75,000 for 21 days in the second year and $50,000 for 14 days in the third year. Any extra shooting days will be compensated at the same rate.
The contract also states that 15 percent of the gross compensation will be deposited by Eyeworks into a “Coogan Trust Account,” as required by California law. The monies can’t be touched until the children turn 18 or become legally emancipated.”

Audrina Patridge got her big break when she was spotted lounging at her apartment pool by Heidi Montag. Since then, she’s become a breakout star in the F-List world of reality television on MTV’s The Hills. Well, Patridge is doing a Lauren Conrad and saying seya nara Hills, because she’s getting her own damn show.
That’s right, for some stupid reason, Patridge will start filming her own reality show that focuses on her life and career as an F-List actress on MTV. Audrina told PEOPLE, her show will be, “spicier, edgier, and older.” I wonder if she came up with those three adjectives herself. Obviously her show won’t be that spicy because she had to double dip back into her ex-boyfriend pool and bribe them to make a cameo.
Remember that Austrialian BMX biker Corey Bohan. The two went on a couple dates but Audrina hadn’t moved on from Justin Bobby (and who could blame her) so she dumped him. Well Bohan may be Patridge’s love interest in her new show, she said, “We’ve been spending a lot of time together. I’m not jinxing anything because as soon as i say anything, I swear it goes bad.”

Though I’m not afraid to admit I indeed am a victim of the swirl, which celebrity couple pulls it off better. Kim Kardashian and her big headed boyfriend, San Diego native Reggie Bush, or ex-Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and her soon to be husband Hank Bassett?
Wait a minute. Am I noticing a pattern here. Both Hank and Reggie are black football players and victims of the swirl. It’s a revolution people! Kim Kardashian needs to step her game up because Kendra hasn’t even dated Hank for one year and she’s already pregnant and marrying him this Saturday; so she’s financially set for life.
Step your game up Kim! By the look on Reggie’s face..they’ll be over this year.

Congratulations to former Playmate Kendra “Boobs” Wilkinson and her fiancee Hank Baskett. The reality show couple are expecting their first child.
“I’m 12 weeks along,” she tells an E! reporter. “And my doctor told me I’m due on Christmas Day! We were actually trying to plan a June baby next year, but we’re so happy that it’s Christmas. The baby is going to be spoiled with a lot more gifts.”
It’s going to be very interesting to see what position her boobs are going to take in this pregnant matter. Now when is Hank going to make Kendra an honest woman? I wonder what shade of white she’ll wear? Will Hugh be his Best Man at the wedding? I’m sure E! will put together quite an “unscripted” season finale that will answer all my questions.

Looks like the E! channel is going to have another HUGE hit on their hands. On Sunday night the channel that brought you “The Girls Next Door”, “E! True Hollywood Story”, and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” will premiere “Kendra” a show about a lady with giant boobs and a horrible laugh who used to be a Playmate and one of three girlfriends to the 80+ year old dude that owns Playboy, but now she is engaged to a dude named Hank and is starting a new life for herself. Sorry for the run on sentence but it had to be said in one ridiculous virtual breath. Hught then Hank? Seems someone has a letter ‘H’ fetish.
If I were a 16 year old boy I’d watch “Kendra” every chance I could…on mute in the darkness of my room with the door locked.

Well, we all saw this coming.
Nadya Suleman, a.k.a Octomom, a.k.a Angelina Jolie wannabe, a.k.a Crazy Woman with 14 children, has landed a reality TV show deal with 3Ball Productions, the folks who brought you “The Biggest Loser” and “Beauty & The Geek”. The show hasn’t been offered to any networks yet. According to some reports, most networks don’t feel comfortable with airing a show about Suleman. Even, TLC, which loves shows about large and dysfunctional families, found her a little too kooky for them. Click on the previous link to read more.
She’s inked a book deal and now a TV contract so we’re bound to see more of Suleman. We don’t know what her show will be like but she is apparently excited by the prospect of sharing her story with the world.

Second place
Susan Boyle, who skyrocketed to worldwide fame with her impressive and ubiquitous performance on Britain’s Got Talent, seemed like a shoe-in for first place in the competition. Alas, it wasn’t to be.
Boyle, the frumpy, quiet Scottish woman known for her prestigious pipes, was awarded second place on the reality show juggernaut today. First place went to some group called “Diversity”. Man, I hope Diversity is ready for some angry glares on the street. Boyle was something like a national hero over in Britain and was quite a sensation here in the states as well.
Recently, controversy had struck the show with reports of Boyle becoming angry and cursing out reporters. As well, rumor had it that Susan was thinking of leaving the show due to the immense amount of pressure from the media. I’m sure it couldn’t have been easy going from complete unknown to global superstar. Perhaps the voters were doing her a favor by sending her home. Now she can get back to living her perfectly normal life.
Oh, who am I kidding? Her life will continue to be a circus. This is the British media we’re talking about here.
