OH Woman Sheila Wallace ID’d As Victim In Thursday Night Fatal Cleveland Shooting

CLEVELAND, OH. (THECOUNT) — Sheila Wallace has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night shooting in Cleveland, Ohio.

Wallace, 58, was found unresponsive while suffering from a head wound around 7 p.m. in the McGowan Park area Thursday night.

Officers responded to the area on calls of shots fired. Upon arrival, bystanders flagged down officers to the scene of an unresponsive woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

Officers learned that Wallace was found by witnesses walking in the area and that a small dog, determined to belong to her, was also found, according to Fox8.

The dog was not injured in the deadly shooting.

No one witnessing the actual shooting has been interviewed and no motive information was provided by officials.

The investigation is ongoing.

Body Of Missing OR Samaritan Nurse Sue Durheim Found Near Corvallis Accident Scene Tuesday

CORVALLIS, OR. (THECOUNT) — The body of missing Oregon woman, Sue Durheim, of Brownsville, has been located on a bank of the Willamette River near where her truck was recovered in Corvallis.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday they had found Durheim, 65, who was was last seen leaving for work Jan. 7.

Durheim’s 2003 Ford F-150 pickup was found in the river off Highway 20 on Jan. 8 and pulled out by crews the following day. Durheim was not in the truck and the search for her continued. The water was described as dark with a swift current, which complicated the search efforts, reports kptv.

Durheim’s family told investigators she typically took two routes to work, including Highway 20.

Deputies said they found tire marks that showed where her truck went off the road and into the water.

Deputies said conditions were icy in the area on the day of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.

Durheim was a nurse with Samaritan Health Services, according to social media. She was the co-founder of The CHANGE Agency, according to her Facebook page.

OH Woman Brandi Grooms ID’d As Stranger Found Dead In Dayton Man’s Spare Bedroom Saturday

DAYTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — Brandi Grooms, of Brookville, Ohio, has been identified as the stranger found dead in a man’s Dayton home Saturday afternoon.

Grooms, 41, was reportedly found dead inside a man’s spare bedroom, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The resident stated he had no relation to the victim and had never seen her before the incident.

Police say, a man called 911 to report discovering an unknown female dead in his spare bedroom of his residence, located in the 2000 block of Speice Avenue, in Dayton, OH, Around noon.

According to the 911 call obtained from Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the caller told dispatch that he discovered the body in a spare bedroom when he came home. Continue reading

OH Woman LaPeetra Dawson ID’d As Tuesday Night Dayton Shooting Victim

DAYTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — Ohio woman, LaPeetra Dawson, has been identified as the victim found suffering from at least one gunshot wound in a Dayton, Ohio, residence Tuesday night.

Dawson, 37, was fatally shot at a residence in the 2800 block of Millicent Avenue, in Dayton, Tuesday night, according to authorities.

Police say they are treating the death as a homicide.

An autopsy of Dawson’s body is planned at a later date, according to investigators.

Details surrounding the shooting or possible suspects remain unclear.

WV Man Christopher Ferguson ID’d As Victim In Sunday Fatal Gallipolis OHIO-7 Crash

GALLIA COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Ferguson, of Charleston, West Virginia, has been identified as the victim killed in a Ohio-7 crash in Gallia County, Ohio, on Sunday.

Ferguson, 29, was killed in a crash Sunday night that occurred just before 11:40 p.m. along Ohio-7, in Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio.

State Police troopers say, Ferguson was traveling north on Ohio 7, when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.

The vehicle knocked down a traffic sign, entered a ditch and struck a tree.

Oh Man Johnny Schmittauer ID’d As Victim In Thursday Fatal Lewis Center Crash

DELAWARE COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — John D. Schmittauer, of Columbus, OH, has been identified as the victim in a fatal South Old State Road, Lewis Center crash on Thursday.

“Johnny” Schmittauer, 23, was operating a 2009 Honda Civic northbound on S Old State Road, in Lewis Center, OH, at around 11:15 p.m., Thursday, when for unknown reasons, exited the roadway, struck a mailbox and flipped over into a ditch, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers.

Schmittauer was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.

According to troopers, at about 11:15pm, Thursday, John D. Schmittauer, 23, of Lewis Center. Schmittauer was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Continue reading

OH Teen Gage Woods ID’d As Suspect Arrested Over Murder Of Carrollton Man Jerry Hendershott

SANDY TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Gage Louis Woods, of Malvern, Ohio, has been identified as the Ohio teen arrested on a murder charge following the shooting death of Carrollton man, Jerry Hendershott Jr, in Sandy Township.

Woods, 19, was taken in custody after deputies responded to a call of shots fire with a male victim around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, police found Hendershott suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to a Stark County Sheriff press release.

Hendershott was pronounced dead at the scene of gunfire consistent with the incident.

OH Gerken Paving Worker ID’d As Victim Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Maumee Thursday

MAUMEE, OH (THECOUNT) — Nathan Soto, of Liberty Center, Ohio, has been identified as the victim killed Thursday after a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck him west of Fallen Timbers.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says, Soto, 42, a construction worker at Gerken Paving, died when crash investigators say a vehicle travelling eastbound on U.S. Route 24 near Waterville Township went off the right side of the road and struck Soto.

OH Grandmother and Child Killed By Falling Tree At Ryan’s Run Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — A grandmother and a two-year-old child in her care were killed when without warning, a tree fell on them at a Clermont County campground, according to the Clermont County coroner.

This happened overnight at Ryan’s Run RV Park on U.S. 52 in Franklin Township.

Ex OH Correction Officer Martin Lynn Robinson Arrested After Standoff Ends With Amherst SWAT Member Shot In Buttocks

The Amherst Ohio SWAT team member injured during a standoff in Sheffield Lake has been identified as 17-year veteran Eugene “JR” Ptacek.

Ptacek remains in critical condition on Friday after being shot in the buttocks during a shootout with suspect, Martin Lynn Robinson, a former Ohio state correction officer.

Ptacek was rushed to a local hospital via LifeFlight and was reported to be stabilized Thursday night.

Robinson was also suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and arm during the incident.
