GUNTERSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Michael Chambers, of Marshall Country, AL., has been taken in custody after being named as a “person of interest,” in a horror Friday Guntersville double-murder.
Chambers, 30, was taken into custody late Friday. At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said they were still processing him and that charges were pending.
A call came in around 4:30 p.m. Friday about a death on Mulberry Street. Police discovered two people dead inside the home. It was determined to be a double homicide. While at the first home, officers were told that no one had heard from a neighbor across the street. Officers went to do a welfare check and discovered the person in that house was also dead. MOUNT CLEMENS, MI. (THECOUNT) — Perry Bernard Rouse Jr., the man sought by police in connection to the Mount Clemens homicide of Clinton Township man, Charlie McGowan, was taken into custody Saturday by United States marshals at a motel outside of Chicago.
According to authorities, Rouse was located at a Motel 6 in Harvey, Illinois and was taken into custody without incident. He is expected to be housed at the Chicago Police Department until his extradition to Macomb County.

KNOXVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Brendon Layne, of Knoxville, TN, has been identified as the man found dead on a Western Heights street Monday night.
Layne, 28, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the street in front of 1502 Fort Promise Drive in Western Heights, according to a Knoxville Police Department news release.
Layne was in possession of unspecified illegal drugs and a firearm, the release states. Witnesses described the shooting suspect as a black male with dreads.
Layne was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a suspect in the shooting was taken in custody and booked on unrelated charges. William Anthony Young Jr., was later released.
The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
SANFORD, NC. (THECOUNT) — One person was killed and another seven injured after gunfire erupted at a rented Stanford, NC., dance studio holding a birthday party event. 27-year-old, Travis Mclean, was identified as the deceased victim.
The shooting incident occurred during a birthday party early Sunday morning at Sanford Latin Dance Studio located at, 109 S Steele St, Sanford, NC., according to a press release from the Sanford Police Department.
Sanford Police responded to the 100 block of Carthage Street in reference to someone being shot. Upon arrival, police located several victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. BARROW COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Police are investigating a homicide after a body was found in the trunk of a gold Toyota Camry in Bethlehem, Barrow County, GA Wednesday.
The car, located near Whitley Rd & Kilcrease Rd Georgia, was the scene of what police are calling a homicide, tied to a current missing person report.
During an investigation on the 300 block of Chimney Trace Drive in Winder, Georiga, deputies say they got involved in a chase with 34-year-old Anthony Woschula due to possible drug charges. After speaking to the person who called in the missing person, police determined that Woschula may have caused the death of the missing person and knew their location. Continue reading
OMAHA, NE. (THECOUNT) — Decabooter Maurice Flowers has been named as the Nebraska man shot in the face as he was operating a vehicle on an Omaha street.
AKA, “Booda” Flowers, 44, originally of North Carolina, was operating a vehicle near 2200 North 39th Street, Omaha, NE., when he was shot in the upper lip.
Police were called to the area on reports of “shots fired.” Upon arrival, Flowers was located suffering a gunshot wound to the facial area.
He was transported to an area hospital where he is expected to recover from the injury.
Flowers told officers he’d been shot while stopped at the light near 30th and Lake. Flowers was taken to the hospital for treatment. Continue reading
Police said Dr. Bryn P. Spejcher, Au.D., of Thousand Oaks, was taken into custody Thursday at a local hospital, where she had been receiving treatment for what police are now calling, “self-inflicted stab wounds.”
Authorities said Spejcher, 27, was arrested on suspicion of the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Chad O’Melia. The motive is yet unknown.
Neighbors said they heard some kind of problem before hearing screams coming from the apartment. “Arguing, people – commotion – then it kind of stopped a little bit, and then I heard it go on, and then I heard a woman screaming,” a neighbor said. Continue reading
Damon Middleton has been named as the South Carolina man found shot dead in a wrecked vehicle in North Charleston Thursday afternoon.
Middleton’s mother is speaking out on Facebook telling those who have posted video of her eldest son’s death scene to remove the video ASAP.

A robbery is believed to have led to a shooting that killed Pam Crumpton Hooks and injured another in Greensboro Friday night, according to a Greensboro police press release.
Hooks, 34, was woman found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound Friday night in a Greensboro residence, a Watch Operations Specialist for the Greensboro Police Department said in a press release.
Another person was also found shot and critically injured at the scene.
Hooks was discovered shot after officers arrived to the home located at, 716 Hidden Lake Court, Greensboro, NC., according to Greensboro police. Another victim, whose name was withheld by police, was also found injured inside the residence.
Officers were called to a home on Hidden Lake Court shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday where both victims were found with apparent gunshot wounds. Continue reading
Robert “Bob” Cruz has been named as the man shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer Monday evening in an incident that occurred on the city’s East side.
Officials responded to S Pine St & Iowa St., at about 5:45 p.m. on reports of an officer-involved shooting.
Police said the man was pointing a gun at people at the VIA bus stop. When the officer arrived, he found him walking away from the bus stop. The officer started honking at him to get his attention. Police said the suspect then spun toward him and opened fire on the officer. A VIA Police officer then pulled up behind the officer when the shooting started. The officer returned fire through the windshield of his vehicle, striking the suspect, who fled around 15 yards before collapsing and dying. Continue reading
