SC Woman Jerrilynn Sigmon Identified As Columbia Victim Shot In Head Saturday Morning

COLUMBIA, SC. (THECOUNT) — Jerrilynn Sigmon, of West Columbia, has been identified as the woman killed in an early Saturday morning shooting.

Sigmon, 25, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head on Norman Street, in Columbia, Saturday Morning.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner confirmed that autopsy results showed that Sigmon died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Columbia Police said Sigmon was found shot in the head at the 4800 block of Norman Street, in Columbia, SC, just before 6 a.m. Saturday. Continue reading

MN Man Eddie Smith ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Fatal St. Paul Shooting

ST PAUL, MN. (THECOUNT) — Eddie Cortez Smith, of St. Paul, MN, has been identified as the man found suffering from at least one gunshot wound Wednesday night.

Smith, 40, was killed in a shooting Wednesday night on the 800 block of Rice Street, in Saint Paul, MN.

Police reported they were called to the scene around 11 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a man shot. At the scene, officers found Cortez with a gunshot wound, as well as two handguns.

The department provided the identification in a tweet Friday. A suspect, Dewayne Anthony Ivory, was arrested in connection to the shooting Thursday. Continue reading

U.S. Citizens Identified As Friday Amsterdam Stabbing Victims

AMSTERDAM (THECOUNT) — The two victims in an overseas stabbing, have been identified as American tourists.

The two people injured in a stabbing incident on Friday at Amsterdam’s central station were U.S. citizens, the U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands said in a statement on Saturday, according to reuters.

Ambassador Pete Hoekstra said the pair were tourists visiting the city.

According to Dutch police the attacker, an Afghan citizen, was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

Police said the suspect’s motives are not yet known.

The names of the victims has not yet been provided.

[PHOTO] Farris Koroma ID’d As Manhattan Luxury Apartment Building Shooter Suspect

NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Farris Koroma, a Roosevelt Island resident, was taken in custody following a weeklong manhunt for the person responsible for an Upper East Side high-rise shooting.

Koroma, 22, turned himself in to police Friday, authorities said. He surrendered at a police precinct with an attorney overnight after he allegedly fired shots into a Manhattan luxury apartment on the Upper East Side last week.

Several residents of the posh high rise claimed their apartment windows had been shot out. The involved residences were located on the same side of the building, facing the river. No one was injured in the incident.

The first shooting happened on Aug. 14. when a man on the 14th floor of the high-rise woke up after a gunshot shattered his window. Bullet fragments were found on the living room floor. Two days later, a woman on the 32nd floor of the same building was sleeping when a gunshot shattered her window. Authorities released footage Thursday the moment shots were fired out of Roosevelt Island around the same time a round of shots hit the 32nd floor, hoping to identify persons of interest. VA Man Shot And Killed Friday Night In Danville Identified As Pat Gunn

DANVILLE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Patrick Andreaus Gunn, of Danville, has been identified by Danville police as the man killed Friday night on Paxton Street, Danville, VA.

“Pat” Gunn, 21, was found suffering from gunshot wounds after police arrived to 700 block of Paxton Street in Danville on Friday evening on calls of shots fired.

KY Woman ID’d As Victim Found Shot Dead Outside Chickasaw Motorcycle Club

LOUISVILLE, KY. (THECOUNT) — Samantha Ahearn has been identified by Louisville authorities as the woman discovered suffering from gunshot wounds in a Chickasaw neighborhood Monday night.

The coroner has identified Ahearn, 29, found shot dead near South 36th Street and Grand Avenue around 11:45 p.m.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the call came in around 11:45 p.m Monday near the intersection of South 36th Street and Grand Avenue. Mitchell said the shooting happened outside a motorcycle club. Mitchell said Ahearn was found shot at the location. A second person — a man — showed up at University Hospital a short time later with gunshot wounds. Mitchell said it’s believed the man was shot at the same location as Ahearn. San Francisco Teen Shot Dead Saturday In Excelsior Shooting That Also Injured 3 Identified

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (THECOUNT) — Authorities have identified San Francisco teen, Gerson Romero, as the victim on a Saturday shooting that injured several people.

Police are investigating a shooting that killed Romero, 19, and injured three other people in San Francisco’s Excelsior District early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred around 2:10 a.m. near the corner of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue, police said.

AL Man “Javoris James” ID’d As Victim Shot Dead In Prichard By JaQuarris La’Kendall Nodd

PRICHARD, AL. (THECOUNT) — Javoris James, of Prichard, AL., has been identified as the man shot and killed in what the Prichard Police Department are calling a homicide.

Javoris “Miguel” James, 31, was named as the man shot dead by suspect, 18-year-old, JaQuarris La’Kendall Nodd, who is currently in police custody in connection with the fatal shooting, according to Prichard Police.

The fatal incident occurred on Saint Stephens Road, in Prichard, early Thursday morning.

A call to 911 first reported the shooting in the 1600 block of Saint Stephens Road at 12:53 a.m., according to information from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office website. Continue reading

Kansas City Man Identified As Victim Found Fatally Shot Outside Raytown Apartment Complex

KANSAS CITY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Kansas City police have identified, Coty D. Henry, of Kansas City, as the man found fatally wounded inside a vehicle outside of a Raytown apartment building.

Henry, 25, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot of The Trails at the Ridge apartments in the 8600 block of East 61st Terrace.

Police were called to the scene at about 2:45 p.m.

Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

AL Man Christopher Michael Chambers Arrested In Guntersville Mulberry St Double-Murder

GUNTERSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Michael Chambers, of Marshall Country, AL., has been taken in custody after being named as a “person of interest,” in a horror Friday Guntersville double-murder.

Chambers, 30, was taken into custody late Friday. At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said they were still processing him and that charges were pending.

A call came in around 4:30 p.m. Friday about a death on Mulberry Street. Police discovered two people dead inside the home. It was determined to be a double homicide. While at the first home, officers were told that no one had heard from a neighbor across the street. Officers went to do a welfare check and discovered the person in that house was also dead.
